Deconstruction of Crazy Stupid Love Movie Poster;

We decided to include what appears as the opposite sort of film. A comedy which effective create laughter and joy rather than, suspense and death. This is the movie poster for Crazy Stupid love which is a film trailer that we deconstructed.

The first section I selected is of the main image on the poster. This image introduces you to the main character, just like previous movie posters. In the image the character is in a quite awkward position, which adds humour to the image linking it to the genre. Another way it links to the genre is in the expression on the characters face, the shock adds a humorous emotion, giving the audience an idea of what the movie is going to be like. It gets the viewer laughing already which sets them up for the film, persuading them to go see what happens next.

The second section is the title. The title itself is quite up-lifting, which added to by the simple and almost square font it has been written in. The text is in white to contrast and really stand out from the background; which allows it to be eligible to a wide viewing audience. The words of the title have been written evenly in a square shape, this makes the word:’ Love’ at the bottom appear larger than the rest because it is a smaller word  stretched to fit the space like the rest of the words. This adds emphasise on the word, so when the viewer reads it out the add more volume on this word, this gives you the idea of what the main subject is in the film.

The third section is the rest of the images on the poster. Theses images show the rest of the all star cast. This is to let the viewer know who is in the film and may persuade people to see the film because they like the actors in it. These images are in a single row to add a tidy feel to the piece, instead of making it look over crowded. Also these images seem to act like a separator between the more important information at the top and the less important writing at the bottom. Each image is quite colourful and bright which adds to the up lifting feel of a comedy. The font underneath image is the same as the title, adding a consistency to the poster, making it easier for the viewer to remember. Also it makes it look professional, whereas if you had loads of different fonts it would make the poster look a bit too much.
The fourth image is of the bottom part of the poster. This has appeared in all previous deconstructions, therefore this will be something we will include in our movie poster. Like previous posters the text here is thinner and closer together making it less clear. Also in this poster the font is darker so it does not stand out from the background as other, more important pieces of text. This shows who has helped produce the film. Also in this movie poster beneath the release date is a web page, which advertise were you can find more information on the film, this is still in a darker and smaller font showing that it is not as important, as the release date which is bold and white, which contrasts strongly with background making it striking for the viewer.
Overall this poster compared to previous is much more up lifting which links to the genre well. Therefore as our deconstructions have shown it is important to link the poster into the genre. This is because it helps the audience gave an initial thought of what they will be watching. Also this poster is a lot brighter than previous, also it has the rest of the cast instead of just one, which something that is not seen in the other posters.
